To me this quote goes very well with the Jack London quote from last month. It isn’t that you are desiring to be worn out, but rather to be well used. This is a sentiment that I understand – I would rather I would rather be a polished shaft – worn by a life of adventure and useful service – than be pristine and have been useless and done nothing.
